Icon to Address Conference

Ambassador for Ageing and household name Noeline Brown is coming to Port Macquarie.

Noeline BrownNoeline Brown, one of Australia's best loved actors will be a special guest speaker at the Official Opening of The Art of Good Health and Wellbeing International Conference on Tuesday 10 November. Ms Brown will come to Port Macquarie in her role as Ambassador for Ageing, Office for an Ageing Australia, Department of Health and Ageing, although she may be better known for her iconic work in radio, theatre and television.

From early appearances in TV's now legendary Mavis Bramston Show in the 1960s to many memorable programs including Blankety Blanks and The Naked Vicar Show and right through to Dancing with the Stars, Noeline Brown has been a constant on Australian television screens, with a parallel distinguished career in theatre.

She has also maintained an interest in social, political and community issues throughout her career. On the community front, Ms Brown has worked tirelessly for arts organisations and institutions including the Actors Benevolent Fund. Since 1999, she has been patron of Starting Points, a charity for children with special needs. In 2005 she wrote her autobiography, Noeline – Longterm Memoir.

Ms Brown will be joined at the Conference by fellow well known television actor and playwright Alan Hopgood AM, who has worked extensively raising awareness of men's health issues through the medium of theatre. His play Four Funerals In One Day, co-written with registered nurse, counsellor and educator Molly Carlile, will be a feature of the Art of Good Health and Wellbeing conference program.
